Tory Lanez has always been a polarizing figure in the music industry, known for his raw talent and controversial moments. Recently, he made headlines again with releasing a duo drop for his upcoming music series, "Prison Tapes.” The first track I listened to was “Cell 245,” which begins with a jail recording before diving into an intense beat. From the first note, Tory Lanez sounds hungry, delivering a performance that is nothing short of electrifying.

I’ll admit, I was a bit apprehensive about how the vocals and mastering would turn out, given the constraints of recording through a jail phone. But let me tell you, it sounds amazing. There’s a gritty quality, reminiscent of a subwoofer speeding down the freeway, that adds an authentic edge to the track. This is the sound we’ve been missing from Tory, a reminder of his undeniable talent. His determination to continue making music despite his 10-year prison sentence is commendable.
