The Music Industry’s Double Standard? Drake vs Universal Music Group

Lyrical battles and beefs are as common as hit singles, a new chapter is unfolding that’s got the whole industry talking. Universal Music Group (UMG) has just fired back at Drake’s defamation lawsuit over the controversial track “Not Like Us,”.

We all remember that epic rap battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar that had us glued to our screens earlier this year. It was fire, no doubt. But now, UMG is claiming that Drake can’t handle the heat he helped create.

It all started with a series of diss tracks that had these two titans trading bars like the heavyweight champs they are. Drake, never one to back down from a challenge, even dropped “Taylor Made Freestyle,” using AI to channel Tupac and Snoop Dogg. Talk about taking it to another level.

But here’s where it gets messier. UMG’s saying Drake’s lawsuit is nothing but sour grapes over a battle he lost. They’re not pulling any punches, calling his move a “misguided attempt to salve his wounds.” Ouch.
